Dr. Acharya is a board-certified pediatrician who joined CentreSpring MD in 2023 after spending 3 years practicing pediatric medicine in Nashville, Tennessee.
Dr. Acharya grew up in Tampa, FL, and attended college and medical school at the University of Miami, where she was awarded numerous merit scholarships and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society for displaying exemplary patient care. She completed her pediatric residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 2020. Following residency, she joined the faculty at Vanderbilt and served as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine. Her time at Vanderbilt was spent serving as the staff pediatrician in pediatric after-hours clinics along with educating rotating medical students. She went on to serve the community as a primary care pediatrician before joining CentreSpringMD.
Dr. Acharya’s passion for integrative medicine started in residency when she experienced health challenges of her own. She quickly realized that conventional medicine alone could not bridge the gap between sickness and health. She began a tireless quest to educate herself on alternative approaches to health and well-being. Dr. Acharya is passionate about nutrition as medicine, mindfulness and stress reduction, and the role of emotional and mental well-being in health. She utilizes an integrated approach to patient care and is especially passionate about childhood behavioral and mental health issues. She firmly believes that children are innately wired for health and well-being, and she utilizes all tools available to help children reclaim the health they deserve. Dr. Acharya is also especially interested in the impact of ACEs (childhood adverse events) on children’s long-term health outcomes. She is committed to finding and treating the root causes of illness using various tools, including supplements, nutrition, and therapy, along with conventional medicine when appropriate. Her areas of interest include mental health, PANS/PANDAS, and an integrative approach to allergies, asthma, and eczema.
In her spare time, Dr. Acharya enjoys spending time with her dog, Nora. She is an avid nature enthusiast who frequently explores new parks, lakes, and hiking trails. She also enjoys cooking, singing, and taking improv classes at local comedy clubs.
