Ayurvedic Tips and Reminders: Tranquility in the Age of Distraction

Learn about becoming a new patient

I’ve been reflecting lately about how ‘robbed’ our inner tranquility is from answering cell phones, using computers, texting and the like. The distractions seem endless. At any time of day anyone from any part of the world can contact you. Although this might be good in some instances, for the most part I feel it’s becoming an invasion into my private space.

As I walked in the park today I specifically payed attention to the fragrances, colors, sounds, textures and shapes that my senses were experiencing, taking in the gifts that nature gives. I was aligning my breathing with the rhythm I was feeling outside and suddenly was feeling so in the flow, so happy, so a part of something so grand.

Ayurveda believes that health is being in harmony with oneself, one’s purpose , feelings and with nature. I was grateful to have a glimpse of this today.
