Everyone knows so much about health these days; from the internet, reading, magazines etc etc.
To continue to gain knowledge about health is fine but one must ask themselves.. is it helping or is it adding to more confusion and configuring? more supplements, more diets? It’s quite hard to self diagnose and to just use the mind to understand oneself. Ayurveda sees the whole human being ; mind, body, emotions, relationships, environment and breath to find balance within the ever flowing changes of life. There is no such thing as a stagnant place of health that you think you will arrive at. It’s an illusion; it’s a brainwash . The perfect body, the perfect house, the perfect life. Even if you attain some of these things they come with responsibilities as well.
Health according to Ayurveda is a dynamic state of being. Finding the respit within the roles you play through yoga, meditation, marma and some simple daily practices with essential oils allows one to be present and current with the now not the future. So ask yourself, how am I feeling now? If you are tired, rest. If you are hungry, eat. Instead of coffeee when you’re tired or starving yourself because it’s not a mealtime, eat some protein instead of that afternoon starbucks.
Paying attention to oneself is the beginning of good health. We must start with ourselves and take an honest look at our lives. Be simple.
