6 New Year’s Eve Safety Tips

Learn about becoming a new patient

New Year’s Eve is one of the biggest nights of the year. In fact, an estimated 92% of U.S. adults celebrate the holiday, and roughly 70% of Americans plan to stay up past midnight as they welcome the New Year. So, while New Year’s Eve is fun and we want you to have an amazing night, we also want you to stay healthy and safe. Between the winter weather, party risks, and being out late at night, it’s important to be prepared.

Here are six tips to ensure you and your family members stay safe and healthy through the New Year.

1. Be careful about what you’re drinkingNew Years Eve Celebration

OK, let’s be realistic. For many of us, the culture of New Year’s Eve comes with a toast of Champagne or some other type of alcohol. Avoiding alcohol or drinking very little is always the healthier choice, but it’s a night for celebration, so if you’re going to drink, remember to hydrate. Alcohol is a diuretic. It causes your body to remove fluids from your blood through your renal system. If you don’t drink enough water in-between alcoholic drinks, you can become dehydrated quickly. Be sure to hydrate with a glass of water throughout the night to avoid dehydration! Alcohol consumption should also be taken into consideration if you’ve changed your diet.

IV Therapy Drip2. Nourish for a big night

If you have big plans this New Year’s Eve, and you want to look and feel amazing, this is a time to consider a boost for everything—your immune system, your skin, to keep you hydrated. Maybe you have pictures you want to glow for or a festive party that may require a drink or two. This is where IV therapies shine. They provide a shot of pure vitamins that hydrate, energize, and strengthen the immune system, so you look fantastic and feel even better. Click here to book now.

If your skin isn’t playing nice right now, or you want to glow all night, one of our Organic or HydraFacials will do the trick. The Organic Facials are amazing for removing dead skin cells so you feel fresh and look incredible. The HydraFacial is an advanced facial using a machine with vortex fusion action that deeply exfoliates, cleanses, extracts, and hydrates the skin in four steps. You can’t go wrong with either. NYE Party Food

3. Don’t binge on party food

Despite the party atmosphere, this is not the night to go crazy with your diet. Party food is infamously delicious because it is infamously bad for you. We love party food too, but three servings of generic hors d’oevres could contain as much as 13 grams of fat, 17 carbs, and 200+ calories. Eating a thousand calories before you get to dinner can wreak havoc on your system. So, don’t forget to take your Probiotics, and enjoy the delicious food, but also try to make healthier choices. Maybe skip the potatoes for a salad and pass on the extra cookie. Your digestive system will thank you.

Winter Wear

4. Remember your winter wear

No fashion statement is worth the health and wellness of your organs, and your skin is an organ. Even though we want to show off our holiday outfits, it’s cold out, and cold weather is rough on your skin. Cold temperatures and low humidity levels result in dry air that draws moisture away from the skin. Add harsh winter weather and indoor heat with no humidity and you can end up with rough, or even cracked skin. In some cases the skin will crack and even bleed. So, first, remember to moisturize and re-moisturize before bed. Second, don’t forget to put on a festive coat, hat, and scarf so you can enjoy the night in warmth!

Time to Detox

5. Detox to look and feel great

Detox products can help you feel better, lose weight, and lessen cravings. A Detox is a process where you use special products or diets to help rid your body of toxins, thereby improving health and promoting weight loss. Your body has a sophisticated way of eliminating toxins that involve the liver, kidneys, digestive system, skin, and lungs. But, these organs can only effectively eliminate unwanted substances when they are healthy. A detox will help optimize your body’s natural detoxification system. Make sure you talk with your provider at CSMD before you start a detox and come in for a follow-up appointment to discuss with your provider how it’s going and if you need a personalized detox plan.

Rideshare App6. Prepare your apps and charge your phone

Safety is our number one concern when it comes to being out at night, so take the necessary precautions. Whether you need directions, rideshare, or a trusted friend or relative, make sure your phone is charged, and apps are ready if you need them. Remember, you never have to stay anywhere, and a quick order to Uber or Lyft (checking to make sure you get into the correct Uber or Lyft) will get you home and in bed whenever it calls. Pro tip: I’m home and in bed by 12:31 so I can still get my eight hours and wake up moisturized, hydrated, and refreshed for the New Year.

Have fun, stay safe, and wishing you and your family a wonderful New Year!
